today the quality of our natural environment has become an important issue. the world population is rising so quickly that the world has become too crowded. we are using up our natural resources and at the same time polluting our environment with dangerous chemicals. if we continue to do this, life on earth cannot survive. concerned people have made some progress in environmental protection. governments of many countries have established laws to protect the air, forests and sea resources and to stop environmental pollution. still more measures should be taken to solve environmental problems. people should be further educated to recognize the importance of the problems, to use modern methods of birth control, to conserve our natural resources and recycle our products. we are sure that we can have a better and cleaner place in the future.

茂盛的树林里，流淌着一条清澈见底的小溪。那里，就是小水滴的家。他每天无忧无虑地生活着，在森林里来回穿梭，和花草们尽情玩耍。
一天，太阳邮递员把小水滴叫到了身边，笑呵呵地说：“小水滴，你有封信。”小水滴接过一看，呀，原来是几年前的朋友金鱼给他寄来的邀请函：“小水滴，你还好吗，我是大海里的金鱼。我们这里有蔚蓝的大海、湛蓝的天空以及许许多多的海洋朋友，那金黄的沙滩被白色的海浪来回拍打着，白色的海鸥在海面上盘旋，人类和海洋生物和睦共处……你有空过来玩玩吧!”
看完信后，小水滴异常兴奋。他赶紧回家收拾了包裹，拿起了地图，准备去找金鱼。他一路狂奔，恨不得马上扑进美丽海洋的怀抱里。
突然间，他路过了一个在河流下游的村庄。天啊，他不由得目瞪口呆。河面上漂浮着白色垃圾，浑浊河水连小水滴透明的身体也被染黑了。但是，小水滴坚信：大海肯定是一个干净而又美丽的地方。偶然间，他抬头望见了一个面容憔悴、头大身小的老奶奶咬了咬干裂的嘴唇，强忍着内心的疼痛，在河里舀了舀水，伤感地摇了摇头，一瘸一拐地转身离去了。霎时间，小水滴听见了几个人在小声议论：“这水怎么可以喝呀?还这么脏。”“没办法了，村里人以前都是在这条河里打水的，近几个月来，这谁不知怎的变浑浊了。村里水龙头的水也被高官给停了，他们高价买水，村里人都付不起了，不得不喝这些水。”“是啊，话说这几天因为这水的`问题都死了很多人了。”……
小水滴百思不得其解，决定去上游一探究竟。于是，他吃力地游啊游，终于绕过了泥沙的阻挡，漂到了上游。这是一条巨龙一般的长河，河面昏黄，上面浮着一个个白色的小泡泡，还不时传来一阵异味。他翻开了地图，万万想不到的是，这竟然是人类的母亲河——长江。他看见有人在水里倒了些污水，他不禁有些胆颤心惊。那些人长长地舒了一口气，脸上划过一丝微笑。一些人在窃窃私语：“总算把废弃的重金属水给倒了，放在这村里可碍事了。”“可别人会不会喝了这些水呀?”“肯定不会的，我们干这行的都几个月了，到现在还没有人投诉呢，瞎操心。”“说的也是。”众人应和道。
小水滴顿时感到一阵恶心，恐怖的奸笑一直在他耳边回荡。可怜的小水滴，他历经千辛万苦终于循着地图游到了大海。可是，这里哪有蔚蓝的海水、金黄的沙滩呀，海面上漂浮着恶心的垃圾，天空黑沉沉的，还时不时传来一声闷雷。银蛇般的闪电在海面上反射着惊悚的光，沙滩上、海浪上到处都有小鱼小虾的尸体，荒无人烟，更别说自由盘旋的海鸥了。
刹那间，小水滴想起了朋友金鱼。他发疯似的寻找着，急得像热锅上的蚂蚁团团转。最后，终于在沙滩上找到了金鱼的残骸，他放声大哭。看着死去的小龙虾，小水滴悲痛欲绝。于是，他向空中飘啊飘，逐渐化成了一片乌云。他向自己的家乡飘去，决定守在家乡的上空，不让这块圣洁的土地毁灭在人类的手中。
翌日，太阳邮递员想送一封他昨日漏给的信给小水滴。但是，森林里的朋友们都说小水滴去海洋里了，至今还未回来。太阳公公急了，信上的金鱼寄出邀请函不久后又给小水滴寄了这封信，信是这样写的：“小水滴，你别来海洋了，人类开始无休止地破坏海洋，你要保护好自己的家园啊……”

we know that if the population continues to rise at the present rate, in a few years, there won't be enough food.what can we do to solve these problems?
